►Project Overview & Results

  • Confluence Outdoor, parent to eight paddlesports brands, partnered with AXIS Display Group to create its first-ever retail merchandising program for Perception Kayaks.

    With kayaking’s rise in popularity, many kayaks were being sold in overcrowded superstore displays with no education, brand story, or product interaction. Perception needed a standalone, scalable fixture system to showcase their kayaks, educate shoppers, and drive sales.

    Results:

    • 1,000+ displays produced and shipped nationwide

    • 49% sales increase in stores with the display vs. 36% in non-display stores

    • Higher price point products sold more effectively in competitive categories

    • Named “Best in Class” by Dick’s Sporting Goods, leading to expanded fixture programs including wall displays for paddle sports

 

►DESIGN OBJECTIVES

    • Position kayaks upright for visual impact and small footprint

    • Integrate “High, Eye, Buy” adjustable messaging for shopper engagement

    • Design adjustable headers and swing panels to fit multiple kayak shapes/sizes

    • Include accessory clips for add-ons like paddles

    • Ensure displays are modular, flexible, and scalable for varied store spaces
